PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Clayton State men's track & field 4x100-meter relay led the way as they picked up All-Conference recognition on the second day of the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Championships on Friday, April 20.

Sophomore
Chris Florence (Newnan, Ga.) teamed with seniors
Adarion Watson (Stockbridge, Ga.) and
Eric Williams (Fayetteville, Ga.) and fellow sophomore
Tyler Askew (Columbus, Ga.) to earn All-PBC Third-Team honors in the 4x100. That group delivered a third place finish with a time of 41.78.

Individually, Florence posted an impressive 5-of-21 finish in the 200-meter preliminaries with a time of 21.99. That mark earned him a spot in the finals of that event on Saturday, April 21 at 1:50 p.m. Askew followed in 10th place with a personal best of 22.55.

Rafael Salis (Atlanta, Ga.) qualified for the 800-meter finals with a fifth place finish in the preliminaries (1:56.76) and junior
T.J. Witherspoon (Thomasville, Ga.) added a qualifying time of 1:58.25 with a 9-of-15 finish. Both will compete in the finals Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Lakers will return to action tomorrow, Saturday, April 21 with a full slate of events beginning at 9:45 a.m. with the men's 5,000-meters.
