ATLANTA, Ga. – Clayton State women's track & field delivered a record setting performance as they wrapped up the two-day Emory Classic on Saturday, March 25.

Nia Elmore (Hinesville, Ga.), sophomore
Sierra Glenn Riverdale, Ga.), senior
Kemjika Finebone (Douglasville, Ga.) and freshman
Ja'Via Grice (Augusta, Ga.) made history. Together they ran a time of 49.33, breaking the program record of 49.41 set by Keisha Etienne, Natasha Gass, Kara Stokes and Jon Taylor in 2008.

"I was beginning to wonder if we would break any records this outdoor season," said head coach
Mike Mead. "A good showing by our 4x100 ladies breaking a nine-year-old record. There is a lot more time they can knock off this season."

Glenn would add another strong individual performance, finishing 16-of-60 in the 100-meters while Elmore posted a 22-of-73 outing in the 200-meters (26.55). They were joined by senior
Joy Diaz (Riverdale, Ga.), who delivered a personal best time of 19:41.17 in the 5,000-meters in placing 22-of-58.

Latrese Hubbard (Cusseta, Ga.) finished 13-of-35 in the shot put with a distance of 10.54-meters while junior
Chelsy Haynes (Buena Vista, Ga.) was 15
th in that event with a mark of 9.94-meters.

The Lakers will be back in action following an off week when they head to the two-day Berry Field Day Invitational from April 7-8.
