WINGATE, N.C. – Clayton State men's cross country closed out the 2017 campaign by finishing 18-of-23 at the 2017 Southeast Region Championships on Saturday, November 4. On the day they compiled 496 points.

T.J. Witherspoon (Thomasville, Ga.) led the Lakers with a 74-of-153 finish with a time of 35:10.75. He was followed by junior
Ryan Polk (Marietta, Ga.) in 101
st (36:08.86) and sophomore
Keldren Reddick (Thomasville, Ga.) in 110
th (36:31.78).

Freshmen
Zach Czerniak (Suwanee, Ga.) and
Riley Higginbotham (Locust Grove, Ga.) followed in 123
rd (37:29.84) and 127
th (38:11.06), respectively. Redshirt-freshman
Jason Dang (38:24.33) rounded things out in 129
th. Each of those three posted personal bests over a 10k distance.

Mount Olive earned the Southeast Region Championship with 50 points and was followed by Queens (55), Augusta (77), Anderson (153) and Mars Hill (178) in the top five.
