MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior
Carla Catala Martin (Barcelona, Spain) led the way for the fourth straight meet as Clayton State notched a 7-of-19 finish at the Bobcat Invitational on Friday, October 6. As a team they finished with 183 points.

Catala Martin outpaced much of the field as she ran a time of 23:31.70 to earn an 11-of-151 finish. She has led the Lakers in all four of the meets this season and finished no lower than 12
th in any of them.

She was followed by junior
Lynnet Kosgei (Eldoret, Kenya) in 32
nd with a personal best time of 24:45.50 while fellow junior
Ariel Boyd-Ghani (Morrow, Ga.) was 50
th (25:29.40). Senior
Joy Diaz (Riverdale, Ga.) was the next highest finisher in 53
rd with a time of 25:40.20.

In a 19-team field, North Georgia earned the team title with 43 points and was followed by Augusta (68), Georgia College (103), Berry (140) and Valdosta State (157) to round out the top five.

The Lakers return to action on Saturday, October 21 when they head to Fort Benning, Georgia for the 2017 Peach Belt Conference Championships. That meet is slated for a 9 a.m. start.
