NEW ORLEANS, La. – As the NCAA Division II regular season comes to a close, four Clayton State indoor track & field student-athletes have combined for five United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Southeast Region honors as announced by that organization on Monday, February 29.

Graduate
Maia Kuhnen (Trier, Germany) delivered a pair of honors in the mile and 3,000-meters while seniors
Jessica Matthews (Monroe, Ga.) and
Crystal Nelson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) were honored in the triple jump and 800-meters, respectively.

On the men's side, junior
Rafael Salis (Atlanta, Ga.) notched All-Southeast Region recognition in the 800. This season there were 1,088 individual honors from 533 women and 555 men.

Each earned All-Region honors a year ago, with Kuhnen doing so in the 800-meters and mile, marking three career indoor honors, and Nelson doubling up with the 400- and 800-meters. Matthews earned the honor in the triple jump and Salis was recognized in the 800.

In order to earn All-Region recognition, an individual has to either finish in the top five in their region in individual events or be a member of a relay team ranked in the region's top three.
