MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Clayton State women's cross country placed 9-of-13 at the 2016 Peach Belt Conference Championships as they finished with 270 points on Saturday, October 22.
Sophomore
Carla Catala (Barcelona, Spain) led the way as she finished 41-of-105 with a time of 24:44.30. She was followed by senior
Joy Diaz (Riverdale, Ga.) in 45
th with a time of 24:52.70 and sophomore
Ariel Boyd-Ghani (Morrow, Ga.) in 69
th (25:44.90). Freshman
Aurianna Worrell (St. Petersburg, Fla.) rounded out the Lakers top four finishers as she came in in 77
th with a time of 26:36.40).
The 2016 Peach Belt Conference Championships were held at the Council Farm just outside of Milledgeville, Georgia and hosted by Georgia College. It was the third time that that institution earned that honor.
Clayton State is back in action when they head to Montevallo, Alabama for the 2016 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional. They will take on the best the region has to offer in that 6k event on November 5. This year's Southeast Regional will be hosted by Montevallo.
