Peach Belt Conference Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team ReleaseAUGUSTA, Ga. - As the 2015 season winds down, a pair of Clayton State student-athletes have been named to the 2015 Peach Belt Conference Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team.
Senior
Norman Cervantes (Doraville, Ga), whose GPA is 3.77, together with junior
Troy Hickom (Cartersville, Ga) with GPA of 3.40 represented the Clayton State men's program out of 18 honorees from the Peach Belt Conference. Cervantes is a Psychology major while Hickom is majoring in Liberal Arts.
In order to qualify for the Academic All-Conference Team, student-athletes must have been at their institution for one calendar year, have achieved a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale and competed in at least 50-percent of their sport as a significant contributor. The GPA is calculated through the previous semester.
The Peach Belt Conference Men's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team is released near the end of the regular season every year and prior to the conference championship. Clayton State will be back in action on Saturday, October 24 in Oakwood, Ga. for the 2015 Peach Belt Conference Championships hosted by North Georgia.
The women will take the course at 9 a.m., followed by the men at 9:45 a.m.
